Chinese PMP maker, Ainol is going to launch the new V8000HD series portable media player (PMP). ainol sets a new standard for PMP by introducing the idea of “Portable Visual Player (PVP)”. According to ainol, an PVP will offer H.264 HD video decoding, HDMI output and USB-HOST connectivity.

ainol’s V8000HDG (Metorplex) with a 5-inch 800×480 screen.

The main new feature is the presence HDMI port and support for H.264 codec (MPEG4-AVC) with a resolution of up to 1280×720 pixels, and it has support playback of MKV, MOV, PMP, MP4 video files. In addition, new Ainol V8000HD is equipped with USB 2.0 ports, and component A/V output. It also has support USB-HOST function and it allows users to plug USB drive, cellphone, PDA, camera into the Ainol V8000HD.
