From 1948, here's a very rare MGM Records promotional poster featuring their four latest record releases by the King of Western Swing BOB WILLS (of Texas Playboys fame) and ARTHUR "Guitar Boogie" SMITH (the writer of "Dueling Banjos"): Record 10291 - BOB WILLS Cotton Patch Blues / Hop, Skip and Jump Over Texas Record 10292 - BOB WILLS Blackout Blues / Sally Goodin Record 10293 - ARTHUR "GUITAR BOOGIE" SMITH The Original Guitar Boogie / Boomerang Record 10294 - ARTHUR "GUITAR BOOGIE" SMITH 12th Street Rag / Once Upon A Time This rare record poster was designed for display in record stores and very few survived. I had this one mounted on linen to preserve and protect it (a reversible process). It's in exceptional condition (there was no restoration done to it). The original poster's vertical crease mark is still visible. It measures 20" wide by 7 3/4" tall; the linen backing adds another inch to both measurements. Wonderful record store memorabilia and an important piece of music history. Good luck with your bidding! |
