21 good Sahara Neolithic stemmed points

This is a group of  21 nice stemmed Sahara Neolithic points from the region of northern Mauritania (south-western Sahara desert).  There are various lithic types and styles.  

The smallest  point is 7/8th inch (23 mm) long. 

The largest point is 2 5/16 inches (34 mm) long.     

The condition is good, however, many will have a minor ding, mostly to barbs as seen in the photograph. The side barbs are  the most delicate portion of this type of tool and are often nicked.  Nice group with a variety of style, lithics, and size.

Neolithic populations living around lakes in what is now the Sahara desert; used  these tools  in the hunt for and processing of waterfowl and small

game found along the shores of once abundant Sahara lakes and rivers.  The end of the Ice Age resulted in global climate changes which dried the lakes and forced these Neolithic (New Stone Age) peoples into new modes of existence, either agriculture which was just beginning at the end of the Neolithic, or a nomadic animal husbandry mode of existence. The New Stone Age was a very dynamic era giving rise to agriculture, pottery, and permanent settlements, all of which were milestones in humankinds march toward 'civilized' life. The Sahara Neolithic lasted from 9,000 to 4,000 BP (years Before Present).
