Cabela's Rubber Armored Astronomy 20 x 80 Binoculars

Up for sale is a Cabelas Astronomy 20 by 80 Binoculars.  This a a very nice set of binoculars.  The original catalog price was $419.    The tripod adapter is included and was a seperate $20 item. 

This item appears to be discontinued now.  It was in the catalog in early 2009.  There was 2 versions of this binocular.  The early ones had a 141 foot field of view at 1000 yards, the later ones 157 feet as this one is.  This pair of binoculars is heavy.  You can use it without a tripod, but then plan on leaning on the truck to keep it steady.

I preferred using this over a spotting scope and thought it was comparable to 25-30 power on a spotting scope.  The picture is very clear, but it is not as clear as a $2800 spotting scope.  However, with the field of view it was initially easier to spot animals at 1000 yards away.
