Vintage Christmas Advent Calendar Embroidery Kit Germany

Available at auction is a vintage Advent calendar from Germany. I purchased this kit from a woman who was having a moving sale. She had purchased several kits when she was in Germany years ago, but had never completed them. I cannot read German, but I do know kits, and this is a quality one.

The fabric is a coarse-weave deep green linen with the Advent pattern printed in white. It’s easy to see. The fabric is stitched on the sides to prevent raveling. The yarn is wool. Also included are various trims such as pompoms, shiny floss, and metal rings. I am uncertain of German holiday customs, but the picture shows the brass rings sewn throughout the picture. There are numbers near each of the rings for the 24 days preceding Christmas. I assume candy or gifts are attached to the rings. There are no instructions, but the photograph of the completed kit is large and easy to see. The picture is a wildlife scene with a snowman, small fawn and birds in an evening setting. I wish that I could give you more information, but my understanding of German is extremely limited. This beautiful Advent Calendar kit is yours for the winning bid.
