OLD PHOTO ALBUM W/39 PHOTOS LATE 1800s HOBSON, TETLOW, BROWN, RECE, HINCHCLIFFE, BRIERLY, DERWENTS, BIRCH, BELL, SCHOFIELD. This sale is for an old photo album about 5 inches x 6inches x 2/14 inches weighing about 1 pound 6 ounces which contains 39 old photos. Most of the photos are about 3inches x 2inches. The photos appear to have mostly been taken in and around Stalybridge, northern England (near Manchester, Glossop, Oldham, Stockport, etc.) and at other places in the USA and England. I purchased this book a few years ago while researching my family tree (my name was originally Tetlow) however I cannot find any relationship to anyone mentioned in these photos. All of the photos are in very good condition with only a few having an odd nick that I can see (but of course a few like the school photos after over 100 years have faded a bit so may be hard to distinguish the actual individuals small faces in the group photos.). The album itself is in a sorry state of affairs with the front cover loose, half the spine missing and lots of rips and tears. But it still holds all but a few of the photos o.k. (two of the photos are too large to fit in the album pockets and another 3 or 4 are thumb size so just sit in the pocket.) Names and other information written on the reverse of the photos include the following (however as some are hard to read I can’t be responsible for the accuracy of what I am listing below): Mary Birch, daughter of Mary Hobson. Edna ?Rergus? (difficult to make out.) Mr. Bell, St. Johns Church, Dirkinfield (photo shows him wearing a clerical collar so he may have been the minister). Maria (Brown) Schofield. Eliza Ann Tetlow, daughter of George Tetlow, before 1873. 2nd or 3rd Standard (Grade) St. John’s (Day) school, Staylbridge (school group photo). Henry Hinchcliffe, Lewis Tetlow (son of Richard and Ward Tetlow.) Martha (Hobson) Brown, wife of James Brown, mother of Staly Elizabeth Hobson Brown, James Hobson Brown, William Hobson Brown, Stalybridge. Aug or Sep 1873 (no names or other writing – just these dates.) Mary Ann Reece, Stalybridge, companion of Elizabeth Tetlow, before 1873. Mr. & Mrs. Henry Hinchcliffe. Elizabeth Hobson (Brown) Tetlow, wife of Lewis Tetlow, 1869, Stalybridge. 1st Standard (grade) St. Johns (Day) School, Stalybridge 1875 or 1876, Edith Tetlow (school group photo) . Lewis Tetlow, 13 ?Lincolnis? (hard to make out) Ave., Westerly, RI. Edwin Brierly, Stalybridge, child of Edwin and Eliza Ann (Tetlow) Brown. Lewis, third child of Lewis and Elizabeth Hobson (Brown) Tetlow, 1882, Westerly, RI. Mary Jane Derwents for Martha Brown, daughter of William and Elizabeth Hobson Derwent. Wm. Hobson Brown, son of James and (Hobson) Brown, 1873-1876. Elizabeth Hobson (Brown) Tetlow, daughter of James and Hobson Brown, before 1870. Photographers details (again, as some are hard to read I can’t be responsible for the accuracy of what I am listing below) on the photos are: R. Hansone, Hyde. T. Wilson, Ashton Under Lyree. A.
