Description
Why buy a cheaply made inferior reproduction garment that is fashioned to look like a vintage piece...when you can have the real deal
This is a vintage mens casual Aloha shirt that dates from somewhere in the late 1940's or early 50's. We recently purchased a fantastic selection of vintage clothing and accessories from a large estate sale here in the Cleveland, OH area, and this is another gem from that lot.
The vintage Herman Frankel tag at the collar has no size or fabric listed, there is a smaller tag states it is a size M and that it is 'hand washable - do not boil'. There is no fabric content listed but given the incredible cool lightweight feel and washing instructions, we are certain that it is rayon.
The atomic pattern and shell buttons are hotter than Georgia asphalt and this is 100% MotherFunker certified razor sharp. This has a 5 button placket with horizontal openings and loop collar, a pleated back and 2 front chest pockets. Exceptionally well made, craftsmanship like this is not often seen on shirts of today.
The shirt is in EXCELLENT used vintage condition, grading a solid 9/10. It has been previously washed & worn, and was very well taken care of by the original owner. There are no rips, holes, fading, pulls in the fabric, loose stitches or any of the other flaws that would often be present on a shirt that is over 50 years old. The only sign of any wear that we can find at all is some light discoloration at the inside of the collar area and near the top. It is very possible this may be able to be completely removed with some detailed spot treatment, but as is does not affect the appearance or wearability of the shirt in any way at all. Normally we carefully hand wash and spot treat all used vintage shirts, but with this one we decided to leave it to the discretion of the buyer, as the discoloration is really very minor and is not noticeable in the pattern.
