This video clip is shot on my inexpensive Casio digital camera in video
mode. There is absolutely no enhancement of the sound whatsoever
...no special microphones, no computer alteration, no studio effects.
The piece being played is an excerpt of the Conus Violin Concerto
in e minor. The young lady playing is a violin student
who welcomes your comments. Enjoy!

The varnish  is rich and beautiful, glowing like dark honey
and a patina that only father time can create. Fantastic violin.

This is an exceptional violin.  It is beautifully made and produces a big, dark,
rich sound. Listen to the sound sample...it has tons of deep, penetrating
resonance, warm, growling basses and beautiful, singing trebles. This violin
would be, in my opinion, suitable for a soloist or concertmaster. The Austrian
violin maker who carved this violin clearly set out to make a powerful 
violin and in my opinion, suceeded. This violin has all of the
hallmarks of the best of violinmaking in Austria where the
influence of Italian and German was evident. 

This is a true antique violin, a rare, highly sought after
instrument with a strong, powerful voice. The sound is deep,
rich and resonant. This is finely made antique violin and
as usual, I have included a video sound sample so
that you can judge it for yourself.


MEASUREMENTS

Full Size, 4/4 Violin. Overall length is 23-5/8". The
body is 14-1/8" long. The lower bout is 8" in
width; the upper bout is 6-1/2".

A  4/4 violin in excellent vintage condition; ready to play. There
are no post cracks or cracks of any kind. The seams are tight
and solid. This is an estate instrument so naturally, there is
some playing wear as you would expect which in my opinion
add character and validate the age of the instrument.
 I've posted plenty of pictures for you to see.

Antique quality violins of this age and in this fine state of
preservation are becoming more and more difficult to
acquire on Ebay. They are highly sought after by
professional violinists, violin teachers and private
collectors. Listen to the sound sample; if you're
