Up for auction is an authentic VINTAGE JULY 1943 MODERN SCREEN MAGAZINE with a gorgeous full color picture of the most handsome CLARK GABLE on the cover in his full military uniform. The front cover headline reads "TAXES AND BONDS - IT TAKES BOTH" -- "MODERN SCREEN" ---- "JULY". And I love how it reads "STILL 10 CENTS". The color picture is of CAPTAIN CLARK GABLE, U.S. ARMY AIR FORCES.

The back cover has a fabulous full cover CHESTERFIELD CIGARETTE AD with a U.S. PILOT and NAVY MAN in uniform leaning against an airplane and it reads' THEY KEEP ON SCORING FOR MILDER BETTER TASTE" ----"THE PROOF IS THAT WHERE A CIGARETTE COUNTS CHESTERFIELDS ARE WINNING MORE SMOKERS EVERY DAY-----etc. "THE CIGARETTE THAT GIVES SMOKERS WHAT THEY WANT----THEY SATISFY".
Above the U.S. PILOTS head it reads "THEY KEEP ON SCORING----RIGHT ON TO VICTORY----EACH STENCILED FLAG MEANS ANOTHER ENEMY PLANE DESTROYED. SO HATS OFF TO THE DARING AND SKILL OF OUR NAVY FLIERS AND TO THE SUPERB PERFORMANCE OF THEIR FIGHTER PLANES."  I love this magazine for the ads alone. And being it is from 1943 wartime, there is a lot of history here to collect, so not only is it a VINTAGE CELEBRITY COLLECTIBLE, but also a MILITARY COLLECTIBLE!!

The condition of the magazine is delicate from age. The pages are yellowed and there are tears here and there, but still all in tact. I am selling this mag "as is", just a fantastic piece of HOLLYWOOD HISTORY. And 1943 wow!

Besides all the movie stars pictures and stories, I just love all the advertisements. I show some of them in my pictures, but there are many more.  Great to scan into your computer and use these for fabulous creative projects. Also great to scan them in an frame some of these for great artwork. Fantastic for scrap booking!!! EPHEMERA!
