1962 DELL MOVIE MAGAZINE BOUND VOLUME - SOPHIA LOREN

Several years ago, I purchased a large group of bound publisher volumes of magazines, pulps, coloring books and other rare publications from the archives of the Dell Publishing Company.  Each volume was professionally bound at the time and the spines bear the name of the President of Dell Publications, Geo. T. Delacorte, Jr.  This item is from that group.

This is the publisher's bound volume of Dell's SCREEN STORIES magazine for January - June, 1962.  Six complete issues are included.  Covers are all pictured in the gallery.  All are in great condition except for a small white area on Sophia Loren's nose on the January cover...they went straight from the printing press to the publisher's library shelf.  As reference copies, they were used by Dell staff but this appears to have been done rarely.  This is a true piece of history, and a wonderful way of keeping reference copies of vintage magazines!

Cover stars include: a very seductive looking JANE FONDA, SOPHIA LOREN & CHARLTON HESTON, a sultry NATALIE WOOD, a streetwise SOPHIA LOREN, PAMELA TIFFIN and DIANE McBAIN.  Movies covered in this volume include JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG, EL CID, HELL IS FOR HEROES, MYSTERIOUS ISLAND, WALK ON THE WILD SIDE, POCKETFUL OF MIRACLES, LOVER COME BACK, STATE FAIR, THE HORIZONTAL LIEUTENANT, CAPE FEAR, ELVIS PRESLEY in FOLLOW THAT DREAM  and THE MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALENCE.  Great advertisements too!
