Offered for your consideration is a vintage 1970 Fender Blond Telecaster in 100% original condition. This 1970 (serial # 2820XX) Fender Telecaster comes with the following features: Original blonde finish, maple neck with original Fender "F" tuners, 3 ply pickguard(pearloid flipside), original electronics including pickups, pots and solder joints, Original Fender Tolex case and original ash tray bridge cover.
Guitar plays and sounds awsome. Great vintage 70's Telecaster tone and playability!
Cosmetically the guitar is very clean with minimal wear considering its age. There are the usual play wears on the body where player's arm would rest on the upper bout area where the original white under coat has surfaced, and a few small dings around the lower edges. Most notable ones are lower horn and lower bout areas(See Photos). There are three small pick guard breaks near pick guard screws. ( See photos). The pick guard shows some play wear on the surface. Back of the tele is very clean with no buckle rash. The neck is straight with low action. The original frets still have a lot of life left. The maple finger board is also in great condition with minimal wear. The B profile maple neck feels solid with 50's tele neck feel. The neck shows some interesting figuring as shown in the photo.
Serial#: 2820XX ( a 1970 serial#) Weighs 7.5 lbs
Neck Code: 3 29 233 B Stampted in green letters
(FYI Late 60's and early 70's tele neck codes are typically stamped in green letters).
they were used only during late 60's and very early
70's(1970 and 1971), and this neck code is consistent with that era.
Pot code: 1 MEG AUD 137-6636 (36th week of 1966, as Fender used a lot of the 'left over' parts in late 60's to early 70's)
Original Pickups are strong and well balanced.
All solder joints are intact.
Original 3 way switch and switch tip. The original tuners have never been off the headstock and function perfectly. The original frets show minimal wear with no buzzing. The original maple neck finger board shows almost no wear front and back. No over spray of any kind.
The original bridge/saddles are also in great shape and fully functional.
This Telecaster plays and sounds fantastic. The pickups sound strong with vintage tele tone; neck pickup sounds thick yet still maintaining the trademark twang. The bridge pickup sounds clear yet not too harsh. The electronic components exhibit no statics or hum. This Telecaster will make great addition to professional players or collectors.
It comes with the original Fender black tolex case with tail logo and the original ash tray bridge cover. The case is also in good condition. Few small areas of the tolex are worn but nothing major. All of the hinges and latches function the way they should.
