Installed in the receiver in place of the detector/AVC rectifier tube, this unit provides greatly enhanced performance on SSB signals. It uses a high-level single-balanced product detector and fast-attack AVC circuit. Mode switching occurs automatically when the BFO is turned on. With the BFO off, an envelope detector and AVC circuit similar to the original are switched in. A small 12-volt DC supply is incorporated to operate the muting relay when the receiver is used with a transmitter or transceiver. A support clamp is now included to hold the adapter in place. Some under-the-chassis work is required. We recommend that you go to http://treetopcircuits.com/docs and download the owner's manual before buying. We'll also be glad to respond to questions. Connector on current production units will appear different than that shown because of design change. Fit and function remain exactly the same. |
