As you can see, this bureau bookcase offers plenty of storage space. Even the sides look great. The fall lowers to reveal a convenient workspace with plenty of storage compartments to organize your things!
Stained glass is an elegant and rare feature. The shelves are fully adjustable by means of an alligator bracket system. Solid-brass hardware contrasts beautifully with the wood. Also note the satinwood string inlay.
Felt-lined supports ensure that the fall won't receive scratches from use. Each drawer features hand-cut dovetails. Shown here is the back.
This beautiful mahogany bureau bookcase was hand-crafted in Edwardian England around 1910. Since then, the mahogany has developed a rich patina, which enhances the wood's deep, mellowed lustre. Satinwood string inlays provide subtle accents, while elegant solid-brass hardware contrast beautifully with the wood. The stained-glass doors are sturdy and operate smoothly, as do the drawers and fall. Each drawer features hand-cut dovetailed joints, which signify sturdy construction and fine craftsmanship, and the lower two feature strong supports through their middles, ensuring long life and strong functionality. The back of the piece features tongue-in-groove paneling, which is an older, seldom-used technique that indicates this piece was bench-made with care. The leaded glass doors make a rattle sound when opened, but all glass is in securely. The top and bottom sections separate easily for shipping and movement, and can be secured with two accompanying screws. Don't miss your chance to own this splendid mahogany bureau bookcase today!
