This is an interesting izumeko doll because the little boy has his arms on the outside, as they usually are shown as tucked into the fold. The doll is showcased in a wood box which has a pull up glass door. The case has kanji written on its base. There are threads on the brocade fabric which would have been attached to a toy or two. The izumeko doll is a baby in a basket whose parents would have taken him to the fields while they labored there. There is a little smuding on the face, and stress in the pink silk fabric. The top of the case looks like water marks. 7E465 Case: 6" L x 6 1/4" D x 6 1/2" H Doll: 4 3/4" H x 5" Dimater |
