ANTIQUE WATERED SILK EMERY PINCUSHION POSSIBLY SHAKER
(This week: a fine collection of early Shaker and hand made sewing items! Check out my other items!)

This tiny little late 19th c. - early 20th c. Shaker leather sewing kit is quite complete inside. The inside is lined with maroon silkIt contains several brown velvet needle pages edged in blue trim; a couple small mother of pearl buttons, clothes pins, needles, and a silk pincushion with pins. The kit is edged in brown silk with a matching silk tie and bow. The stitching is meticulous, although a little less "finished" than many of their kits - perhaps made by a young girl or an older sister. The leather is soft and supple.
CONDITION: Excellent condition, with some fraying to the silk ribbon.
SIZE: 2" BY 2.5" closed.
