Publisher: Macmillan, "Set up and electrotyped. Published October 1906". 1905 appears at top but was for copyright purposes only (see BAL V.5 p 438). The first actual published edition was indeed this one by Macmillan in October 1906.
327 pages with publisher's catalogue of 4 pages at the back. Title page a cancel laid in as per BAL. Very solidly bound. No ink writing or bookplates. Hinges are untorn but with archival tape reinforcement. Pages bright with moderate toning. Original semi-pictorial end papers are clean though with moderate spotting and toning.
Fading and mild staining to front cover, similar with minor smudges to rear cover, spine text quite faded but can still be read.
