Zenith watch manufacture is allowed to trace their roots back to 1865, where Georges Favre-Jacot was able to coral over one-third of the working population in Le Locle, Switzerland for the manufacture of the worlds most accurate pocket watch. For the modern collector and enthusiast, Zenith is best known for their series of El Primero Chronograph movements. For almost fifty years, the El Primero has been utilized as both a manual wind and an automatic, column-wheel Chronograph movement spinning at a precise 36,000 VPH, thus chronograph and split times to one-tenth of a second. Zenith is now owned by the massive LVMH group. Autonomy within this group has been guaranteed for Zenith, giving them design freedoms, and an endlessly deep pocket.
