Hardback book with dust jacket Early American Crafts and Hobbies A Treasury of Skills, Avocations, Handicrafts, and Forgotten Pastimes and Pursuits from the Golden Age of the American Home by Raymond F. and Marguerite W. Yates edited by Mary Lyon, Editor, Craft Horizons Funk & Wagnaills New York Copyright 1954 by Wilfred Funk Inc This is a wonderful book about the things people used to do in their spare time a hundred + years ago before the invention of television. Greatgrandfather and great-grandmother were not bored and there were few idle hands for which the Devil had to find work. Many of these elegant and useful skills for men and women are well-nigh lost arts: this is, for instance, the first book in over a hundred years to instruct the reader in the entertaining at of making wax fruit and preserving flowers in wax. The blue cloth covered boards are very nice, straight and NOT corner bumped. There is a little age fading, but really none, just wanted to let you know it is not mint. The DJ has had a tough time, a few rips, some minor missing paper, etc. You can see that in the scan. The binding is tight, the pages clean and unmarked. Wonderfully preserved book. It measures 9-1/2" x 6-1/2" x 7/8" with 221 numbered pages. I will pack and ship your books off promptly after payment clears. I can answer specific questions you have.
