Genuine Brass Frog on Apple Pond Spitter

These brass statues and sculptures are handcrafted and cast in the lost wax method... resulting in high quality pieces of art. This labor intensive process builds value into every creation. A mold is first created from an original sculpture. A casting is poured in wax, and the wax impression is removed and refined. Once encased in a clay mold, the wax impression is kiln-fired. The wax melts out and the resulting void is then filled with molten brass. Once hardened, the brass-casting is removed from the mold. It is buffed, polished, and patinized to give the piece its finished verdi-gris or bronze appearance. The handcrafted nature of each elegant creation results in subtle variations in color, finish, size, and shape. As a result, each sculpture is unique to its owner.

 

This Brass Frog on Apple sculpture is charming for the garden or landscape and it also can be used by a pond as a spitter.
