Overlay Technique entails using a jewelers handsaw to cut a design into a sheet of sterling silver, then soldering the sheet over the top of a second like-sized sheet. This creates a recessed silver background which is then oxidized to enhance the contrast between the two layers.
~SILVER~
The stunning metal that never finishes second.
Large varieties of precious metals are used in the jewelry trade, but silver will always remain a classic addition to any jewelry collection.
~Choose sterling silver for durability ~
The majority of silver used today is sterling silver, which is made up of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metal (usually copper). This is to make the jewelry more durable and elegant, as 100% pure silver is very soft and prone to damage. Rhodium is also applied to silver to give it a slightly darker finish.
~So many silver looks to love ~
Silver jewelry comes in a wide variety of styles and textures and looks great when worn with the right combination of colors and fabrics. There is something available in silver to suit all age groups and preferences – with rings, charm bracelets, earrings and anklets popular among younger wearers, and broaches, pendants and vintage rings perfect for the older generation.
~Fashions change, silver adapts~
Silver adapts very well to fashion and ranges from classic and sophisticated to on trend and glitzy. Silver can be worn at any time of the day and for any occasion, and its sparkling appearance has the ability to enhance any outfit. In many cases, silver tones better with many items of clothing than gold – black, all shades of grey and white look particularly fabulous with silver. During the workday, for example, silver bangles, hoop earrings and a silver chain is the perfect finisher for a grey suit. For an evening soiree, large cocktail rings, a sparkling bracelet and drop earrings help get the party started.
~Silver makes a great gift~
Silver also makes the ideal gift for any occasion, from holidays to birthdays. You can have a piece engraved with the recipient’s name, or even have a special design made for a more personal touch. Although items of jewelry made purely from silver look stunning, you can experiment with items inset with crystals and other precious stones.
~Take good care of your silver~
In time, even the finest silver will tarnish. Silver reacts to sulphides in the air. And while tarnish on some items helps to enhance it and give it a more distinguished look, silver can easily be cleaned, restoring its shine. To keep your jewelry in stunning condition, use a silver dip or polish on a regular basis and buff it with a soft cloth.
~HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR WRIST SIZE: ~
1. Choose the wrist you plan to wear the bracelet on.
2. Cut a piece of scotch tape about 9-10 inches long and wrap it completely around your wrist with sticky side to skin, overlapping the ends.
Be sure you have the tape positioned over the WRIST BONE.
3. Gently slide scissors under the tape and CUT STRAIGHT across the tape...
4. Carefully peel the tape off and lay it out STRAIGHT onto a sheet of paper.
5. Take a ruler and measure in inches the EXACT length of tape.
6. WE RECOMMEND YOU REPEAT THE PROCESS JUST TO MAKE SURE YOU GET THE SAME MEASUREMENT BOTH TIMES. Then you will know your wrist size.
You should measure in inches to the nearest 1/4 inch.

Today most Sterling silver objects are usually stamped with either the word "Sterling" or ".925". But a great majority of the older Native American handcrafted jewelry was unsigned and unmarked.
To measure your wrist you can use Measuring tape, or you can also take a piece of string or ribbon and measure your wrist with that and then put it up to a ruler and see what your measurement is.

I WILL DESCRIBE THESE ITEMS AS ACCURATELY AS I CAN. MOST OF THE ITEMS I SELL ARE DEAD PAWN, AND NOT BRAND NEW. I WILL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE.
WHAT IS DEAD PAWN?
For the Southwestern Native American, pawn refers to the practice of converting art and possessions into income for life's necessities. Pawn can also be items from antiquity, heirloom pieces of handmade jewelry or craft, passed from a family into the public marketplace. Because much of the pawned merchandise is of real day-to-day value in the seller's life, the percentage of pawn that goes unredeemed is small, about five percent.
Merchandise that remains for sale in a pawn shop after loan expiration is referred to as "dead pawn," and items of dead pawn are among the most highly valued Native American artifacts to be found on the open market.
Some pieces of dead pawn are old; other pieces are NEW and have been pawned by others. It is difficult to tell the age of a piece of jewelry, but some indicators are "wear and tear," evidence of continued previous polishing, the style of the setting, or style of the piece itself, the type of stone or material used in the settings.
bestofferdeals take pride in offering our customers 100% authentic Native American made jewelry. The Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 states that "it is illegal to offer or display for sale, or sell any art or craft product in a manner that falsely suggests it is Indian produced, an Indian product, or the product of a particular Indian tribe." Each and every one of our beautiful offerings is in full compliance with this Act.
