JJC FB-1 Compact Battery Pack

Thank you for purchasing this JJC FB-1 Compact Battery Pack, for the best performance please read this manual instruction carefully before use it.
The JJC FB-1 compact battery pack is a compact lightweight, external power source designed for CANON 580EX II, 580EX, 550EX, MR-14EX and MT-24EX flash. When this battery pack is connected to the flash, the recycling time is reduced to approximately 1/3 of the original value, and the number of flashes is increased by approximately three times.
  •  Install Battery
1. Slide the battery cover in the direction of the arrow from the FB-1 battery Pack.
2. Insert eight new AA-size alkaline batteries that are the same brand as those in the flash unit. AA-size nickel-hydride batteries and AA-size lithium batteries can also be used.
3. Slide the battery cover in the negative direction of the arrow from the FB-1 battery pack.
  •  Connecting to the flash unit
1. Remove the contact cover on the flash, then firmly insert the connector plug into the socket.
2. Turn on the flash's power switch. Make sure the operation indicator lamp turns on.
3. The camera is ready to take picture. Use the camera after confirming that the flash pilot lamp is on.
  •  CAUTION
  1. Do not fire rapid bursts of more than 20 continuous flashes. After 20 continuous flashes, allow a rest time of at least 10min.
  2. when the FB-1 is connected, the flash unit internal batteries are used to control the flash. Do not remove batteries from the flash.
  3. When using an EOS DIGITAL camera with the FB-1, images may contain noise due to electromagnetic interference. Therefore, be sure to keep the battery pack at least 5cm away from the camera body. Also do not directly attach the FB-1 to the tripod socket on an EOS DIGITAL camera other than an EOS-1D series camera . When using an EOS DIGITAL camera other than an EOS-1D series camera , attach an optional battery grip to the camera's tripod socket, then attach the FB-1 to the tripod socket on the battery grip.
  4. When not using the flash, turn off the flash power switch to prevent unnecessary battery drain.
  5. Turn the flash power switch to the OFF position before attaching or detaching the connecting cord.
  •  Attaching to the camera
The camera bottom attachment screw and rubber mat include with the FB-1 can be used to attach it to the tripod socket on the camera body. See CAUTION above for information on attaching the FB-1 to EOS DIGITAL camera.
