50 Baby Seed Clams

Mercenaria, Quahog (Hard-shelled Clams)

Approximately 1/4 - 3/8 inch. Natural filter and Sand Stirrer

These are very hardy clams and are very well suited for the home saltwater aquarium.They burrow into the sand, therefore, stirring the sand as they burrow. They are almost constantly filtering the water through two siphon tubes. One takes the water in and the other lets it out. They consume algae and floating waste in the water. They will help to constantly keep your water clean, just as they do in nature.They can tolerate water temperatures just above freezing to about 90 degrees. These clams are very attractive as you can tell from the picture. Many have a beautiful pattern on the shell. They are hard-working and long-lived. Clams can reportedly live for more than 20 years. They can grow to approximately 1 inch in a years time and much larger with time, with adequate food. For large tanks, you might want to consider buying several of the different sizes that we sell. Small seed clams are always fun to watch grow, but larger clams filter more water. If you want larger clams, just tell me what size you want. I'm sure I have it.

Priority Mail 2/3 day from the post office and UPS shipping next day air and second day air. These clams will come packed in an insulated box with cold pack. They will not come packed in water. Once you receive your clams you will need to place them in your tank on the sand. They do not need to be floated. You will chose your shipping preference when you pay for you item. Each additional aquarium item can be shipped for just $2.00 more when shipped and paid for at the same time.
