Numbers 1 - 8 bound in ed brown cloth. Independently paginated. Each issue, 45pp., w/ 22 full-page pictures and over 100 portraits in character. The total 998 pictures. Other offerings of this book have 1-9 issues. Total pages are about 410.

This book is unique in that instead of the # 9 issue it has an issue called "Stage Favorites." This is a "Valuable collection of portraits of distinguished actors, actresses, and lyric artists during the last ten years in the nineteenth century with short biographical sketches carefully collected and compiled from authentic sources" by A competent Corps of Amreican Dramatic Critics and Essayists; copyright 1894. Published by Philip S. Minton and Company, New York. It is 47 pages with celebrities of the time like William H. Crane, John Drew, Georgia Cayvan, Fanny Davenport, Maude Adams, Robert Mantell, Lillian Russell, Maurice Barrymore, Virginia Harned and others.

In the previous eight issues are actors like Henry Irving, Ellen Terry, Edwin Booth, Eleonara Duse, Wm. Gillette, & more.

Condition: The covers are clean and the binding is tight. the pages are tightly bound into the book. They are clean but the last 47 pages have some minor water staining to the edges. Some of the pages edges are repaired with archival book tape. None of the last two defects affects neither the portraits nor the text.
