Greetings from the Ozark Mountains!
Up for auction today I have a one of a kind beautiful fairy house I created using found items from nature...vintage doll house accessories...and a large vintage victorian style jewelry box that plays music when wound up.
Please let me take you on a tour...
The whole front of the house (actually its the back of the original jewelry box) is covered with tree bark and moss... The front door and the stonework around the windows I handsculpted using a bake in the oven clay.
The windows are faux stained glass and when the house is lit up you can see the light thru the little windows. The little front porch is made using river rocks and wisteria vines from my front yard..
A sandy path winds its way down and around the house where you will find an amazing place! The fairies have found all kinds of little treasures during their wanderings and have decorated that side of the house with them.
There are mismatched ladies earrings...gumball toys...bingo chips...a metal toy soldier...a brand new copper penny! How lucky is that? I am sure there are more things to numerous to mention...I have also left the little drawer inside the house empty just in case your fairy needs some room to put her own treasures! When you pull the drawer out it plays music..The theme from Love Story I do believe!
It works fine but as with vintage stuff its not perfect...I think one of the notes is slightly off key!LOL! but it adds to the charm of the little house...
The key to the music box is accessible right in front of the house...in the rock wall...
On the other side of the house the fairy built a water fountain using a dolls copper coffee pot and a quite large acorn top...The water runs out of the coffee pot into the acorn top and down the front of a glass moon and star into the fairys creek! Its really pretty...A ceramic Squirrel hides behind the water fountain...I think he was the one who ran away with the rest of the acorn!
On top of the house I placed a small glass jar that holds a little light and a little hummingbird. There is a lovely fairy sitting on the roof enjoying the afternoon breeze. She is very lovely and has glittery wings.
Purple Wisteria and Ivy wind its way down the side of the little house and make its way inside to decorate the fairys bathroom...bedroom and livingroom...
The bath is decorated using tiny fairy sized tub toliet and sink...There are beautiful glass shampoo bottles and perfume bottles sitting on top of a vanity made with an awesome quartz rock that I picked up at the river this summer...It sparkels! There is a lovely swan and a tiny toothbrush and soap holder...The walls I papered with real oak leaves from my tree in the front yard and added a little fairy glitter to make it homey!
The bedroom is fit for a queen...The little bed I made using wisteria vines and faux rabbit fur...a pillow and spread made from beautiful purple ribbon...A coral rose decorates the pillow..There are glass beads and glld beads decorating the headboard and foot board. A dresser with a mirror hold all of the fairys cosmetics...There is a little black gumball baby and a tiny ceramic chair sitting at the end of the bed. A ceramic Giraffe waits in the corner ready to give good nights to his fairy friend.
The livingroom is cozy with a fireplace that is made from river rock and on the mantel sit a clear glass marble...a fairy sized plate and goblet...and a little brass lantern that lights up when the lights are on in the house. The cutest little owl sits up high in the corner of the room asking WHO WHO WILL LIVE HERE??? There is a couch made from a dried mushroom and wisteria vines...a side table holds the fairys' bottle of magic fairydust and magic wand..
There are little ceramic dishes to cook with and magic jemstones sitting on the hearth...
The house lights up when plugged up...
My fairy house is not a toy...Just for little eyes to look at...not little hands to touch....XOXOXO
There are so many hours of work put into this house...Everytime you look at it you will see something new...and you never know your fairy might bring something of her own to put in there!!!
It is quite large and heavy..It is 12 inches by 12 inches and the base is about 20 inches long...
I put plastic bags into each room to insure that the contents do not get jostled around...I then wrap the whole thing in bubble wrap...It is placed into a large box and filled up with peanuts...
I am a freak about wrapping them because it takes me so long to make them and I don't want the post office smashing them to smithereens!!!
Out of all of the fairy houses that I have made over the years I have only had ONE disaster but I replaced the house for the lady...
The shipping can be anywhere from 25 to 50 dollars depending on the size of the dollhouse and where it is shipped...I will let you know exactly how much it weighs and costs to ship it!
If you have any questions or would like more photos please email me at rams_gal@windstream.net and I will send them to you...
Thanks so much for looking...Angela McAllister...House Builder For the Wee Ones....XOXOXOXOX
