Marklin Gauge 1 Live Steam Locomotive. 4-4-O wheel arrangement, British Outline. 21 inches overall length including tender. I cannot positively identify this locomotive. It resembles E4021, made in the 1915 era, differing only in lacking the speed switch on the side of the cab. Has track activated reversing mechanism. It would appear that the cab has been repainted or even replaced, however the fasteners on the bottom of the cab sides are present on the original (see catalog picture). Mechanically appears to be in good condition, except that the burner is missing. Wheel arch on one side bears the name George the Fifth, the other side has no label, perhaps it has worn off. The size of the three axle tender is correct for the locomotive, but I am not sure of the painting. Tender is in good condition except for missing the imitation coal and a small piece of the coal rail. |
