Description: UP FOR AUCTION IS A Scarce 1950's bound collection of soft cover books, Complete Course in Modern Photography, by the New York Institute of Photography. The book measures 6.5" wide by 10" tall, contains 33 booklets, and is in Very Good condition. The books have light wear and soiling to the edges from normal use with one cover loose, but are otherwise clean and tight. Probably the most complete set of this course you'll ever find - it might even contain all the booklets the course had to offer as the binding appears to be full. Starting with a practical dictionary of photography, this course takes you through some of the following great topics (many of which still apply today): making the photograph; emulsions, filters and lighting; photographic optics and exposure; development; printing and enlarging; fashion photography; bridal photography; press photography; advertising photography; photo oil coloring; careers in photography; home portraiture; architectural and landscape photography; principles of portrait lighting; sensitometry (zone system); pictorial and modern photography; and much more. This set of booklets is well illustrated with many useful charts, graphs, tables and example photographs. Great vintage course in Modern Photography in Very Good condition.
