1993 Blueridge Acoustic Electric Guitar Very Nice Tone

Early production, very nice quality 1993 Blueridge BR-OS.E dreadnought size acoustic electric guitar. Solid spruce top, attractively figured rosewood back and sides, 4 band active equalizer with pickup. No case. 15 1/2 inches at lower bout, 1 3/4 inch nut width. These Blueridge guitars have gained a reputation for being some of the best-built guitars around for the money, and this one is no exception. It is basically a high quality copy of a CF Martin D-28. The solid spruce (or cedar, not sure) top is bound and X-braced. It has the small cool-looking black pickguard and a rosewood belly bridge. The top looks ambered and nicely aged, not sure if it has aging toner on it or not but has a very attractive, aged vintage color. Top is quite clean but for a few light dings and a couple surface cracks near the pickguard which have been glued over and appear stable and going no where. The bridge also has a hairline crack running through the pegholes which appears stable, and the bridge saddle is fairly low, although it could come down a bit more if one wished. The back and sides are very attractive rosewood veneer with lots of very cool figuring and patina. The fingerboard is rosewood also and very nicely figured, there is some light fret wear on the first four frets but nothing major. On the side is a 4 band active equalizer, a couple of the plastic slider knobs are missing but all slider switches work and function as they should. It has quality sealed tuning pegs, and there is a solidly repaired crack/break below the peghead which is well-repaired and stable. In all likelyhood the neck is now stronger than it was to begin with. The neck heel has also been partially reglued and appears solid and stable. The playing action is excellent being a hair under 3/16 at the 12th fret. It plays fast and easily, it plays like an electric, some may even prefer to RAISE the action but will leave that decision to the new owner. This guitar has exceptionally fine tone, it is a real boomer and the tone is very rich. Sounds great either plugged in or unplugged. If you ever thought about gettting a very well-made guitar that you don't have to worry about getting banged around or taking to gigs, this one is a real bargain and might be the one for you, leave the real Martin at home for safe-keeping. Overall this guitar sounds fantastic and plays well also.
