The German pink pigs were produced early 1900s as retail sales items for the American tourist trade...they were purchased in gift shops as mementos and as gifts (I believe this is the meaning of the word "fairing" often used in describing the pink pigs. You are bidding on a woman's shoe done in the characteristic cabbage green used with the pigs. The shoe is in good shape except for the white spot on one side (It is not a camera flash but rather a manufacturers failure to get the whole shoe painted.) It also has a small crack near the heel on the same side as the white spot. There is no mark on the bottom. The shoe measures 6.0 Inches long and 3.25 inches tall. This item looks great as part of a pink pig collection. |
