You are bidding on a Discontinued boxed set of  Soldiers of the Queen, VICTORIA INFANTRY BRIGADE - 1896 by D-B Figurines, Sydney, Australia 1/32 scale Matte Finished hand-painted metal Traditional toy soldiers Made in the 1970's; still in their original Soldiers of the Queen Box.  Made in the same tradition as the William Britains Toy Soldiers.  This 6 Figure set one officer 5 infantrymen, of  Matte  finished  Military Miniatures were made by D-B Figurines, in Sydney Australia.  Sorry to say the figures were shipped to us from Australia without any inner packing so therefore the figures have chipped paint. ALL ITEMS SOLD ON "AS IS" BASIS.

Victoria Infantry Brigade - 1896, In 1860 the volunteers of the Colony took over the garrison duties of the Imperial Troops.  In 1884 the force of volunteers was disbanded and paid militia raised.  In 1903 the 1st Battalion Militia Infantry Brigade became the 5th Australian Infantry Regiment and subsequently 2nd Battalion of the 6th Infantry Regiment serving in South Africa and both World Wars.  The 5th Battalion became part of the 8th Australian Infantry Regiment in 1903 and subsequently 1st and 2nd Battalions of the 8th Australian Infantry Regiment in 1908.  The 2nd and 5th Battalions also saw service in South Africa and Both World Wars.
