IMPERIAL CARNIVAL GLASS, SCROLL EMBOSSED, BOWL, PURPLE~

For Auction I have a lovely piece of Carnival Glass made by the Imperial Glass Company of Bellaire, Ohio. The Shape is a Bowl and the Pattern is the very pleasing "Scroll Embossed". The Bowl measures 2 5/8" tall and is 7 1/2" in diameter.

The Bowl depicts Four off center Bullseyes and an additional one in the center. There is Alternating Stippling on each of the Bullseyes Rings. There is also Three Petal Fans in between each Bullseye with Stippling on the Alternating Petals. The Bowl has a Saw Tooth Edge and a Collar Foot Base. The Base has a Hobstar on it and the rest of the exterior is plain. The iridescence on this Bowl is Spectacular as you can see hues of Purple, Blue, Fuschia, and Green.

The Bowl is considered to be in Excellent Condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. There is no irridescence loss which makes me think this piece was purchased for the sole purpose of just enjoying its beauty. The piece is unsigned which means it probably had a foil or paper label back in the day. There has been a reissue of these Bowls in the 9" version and those have the "LIG" mark.

Those of you who collect Carnival Glass determine Value by the Condition and Brillance of the Iridescence. This Bowl couldn't get any better!! The Iridescence is just outstanding. My camera cannot capture the Brillance of the Bright Blue Purple Iridescence that this Bowl emits. I'm sure the lucky bidder will be extremely happy with their purchase. This Bowl was made Circa, 1910-1917.
