The manufacturer warns that breastpumps are for single use.  One reason is because milk can flow back in the tubing and accumulate behind the face plate and cause contamination.  I have included a picture of the removed face plate and what lies beneath.  As you can see, it is clean.  I was obsessive about watching the tubing every time I pumped to make sure I would not have this problem.  Do not purchase a pump unless you can see what is behind the face plate! I bought this pump a year ago, at Babies R Us for $279.99.  I used it for 4 months and have been the only person that used it.
