Synopsis
A collection of Peter Matthiessen's stories that were previously published in the Atlantic Monthly, New World Writing, Harper's, Antaeus, Saturday Evening Post, and Esquire. They include the 1959 story, "Horse Latitudes," which provided the basis for his novel AT PLAY IN THE FIELDS OF THE LORD.
