This artifact is GUARANTEED
to be an AUTHENTIC ancient artifact dating from 1600 to 1200
B.C. or older. It was found in the Balkans.
These
prehistoric sickles or scythes were used to cut grains or to prune
agricultural crops. Some believe that they were votive in nature and
made to be buried in graves. It is also surmised that they were
possibly the first Proto Money and were traded for goods. There is quite
a bit of information on these sickles on the internet. Try googling
"Bronze Age Sickle".
I purchased a lot of these
sickles and they appear to be broken in antiquity. That is, they have the patina on the broken edge too. Also, some of them were
unfinished.I believe that the entire
lot of these sickles that I purchased were meant to be melted down and
re-cast.They were scrap bronze from
mis-cast sickles.
I have viewed this item under a microscope to aid in authentication.

Need some help identifying your artifacts? When I first started out, I wanted to buy some books to read but I did not know what books to buy. I now have a huge library of so-so books. I have 3 or 4 books that I continue to utilize on an almost daily basis. These books are available in my store. They are invaluable as a resource to help attribute your items.
