What a fabulous Victorian Antique Syrup Pitcher! The intricate designs on the face of this jug are classic "Eastlake" - interlaced geometric ribbons with natural accents of flowers and leaves and a "bamboo" handle - all elements of the aesthetic style of the day.
8" tall, 4-3/4" overall width, 3" wide base
Condition: Very Good - 'antique' - condition. The hinge has been repaired and it looks like the base may also have been repaired - long ago. A few bumps, but nothing I would even call a dimple and certainly not a dent. There are areas of plate loss on the lid and a spot near the bottom of the body (pic #6) - overall the silverplate condition is surprisingly good and seems to be original!
Marked with a circle stamp containing the name: Rogers Smith & Co. - New Haven, Conn. - followed by the pattern/shape #184. Also stamped with the words:
