Victorian Silverplate TEA SET

the pattern is know as 

~"Assyrian Head"~ 

 The Assyrian Head pattern was made by several different companies:  1847 Rogers Bros., Wm. Rogers, Meriden B. Co., etc. - companies that evolved to become the International Silver Company.

The figural woman's head at the base of the spout is nearly identical to the traditional version of the pattern and the intertwined spiral fern border is similar to the aesthetic background elements.  The bright cut floral decor on the upper portion of each piece makes this pattern unique. 

4 Piece TEA SET

• Coffee Pot  -  10" tall, 10" span from handle to spout
• Tea Pot  -  9" tall,  9.5" span handle to spout
• Open Sugar/waste bowl  -  4.5" high,  4" wide top
• Cream Pitcher  -  5.25" tall,  5.25" span handle to spout

Condition:  VERY GOOD to Excellent! -  Gently USED "Antique" condition.  Each piece has been cleaned and lightly polished to bring out the beautiful details without losing the contrast - could be polished for a brighter shine if you prefer.  There is some plate wear on the handles, spouts and other high points. There are two shallow dents on one side of the Tea Pot - see photo #4.  Both hinges are attached and in fine working order.  I see no evidence of replating or any repairs.  Some of the original "gold wash" remains on the interior of the sugar bowl and the creamer.
