Stainless Steel Action bolt This stainless steel take down bolt will fit the Ruger 10/22 or Ruger Charger. It will replace the stock slotted screw with a hex\Allen head screw that uses a 5/32 wrench. No more slipping off the bolt with a straight screwdriver and gouging your stock. No more messed up screw heads that can snag on gun cases, or cut your hand. The Allen head also allows you to get the correct and more consistent torque on the action bolt for better accuracy.
What it boils down to is this screw will not rust, and it's easier to use. I order 12-24x1" screws and remove the top section of threads. I have to remove the threads or the screws will not work in an OEM stock. The little brass fitting in your stock is threaded. This bolt will thread thru the brass fitting and sit neutral on the non threaded section allowing you to set your action where it needs to be as you tighten the bolt down. The standard bolts are made this way for the same reason. The non threaded section also allows the stock to be tightened to the action. Fully threaded screws will not work without drilling the brass fitting out so that the threads are gone. Also included in this auction...... Ruger 10/22 Bolt buffer This item will help your weapon cycle more quietly by eliminating the clack that is generated when (and if) your bolt hits the stock (metal) bolt buffer. Most all standard to high velocity 22lr cartridges will not make the bolt hit the buffer. Hyper velocity rounds will. This is when you will get the clacking sound. These do not make your gun more accurate, more efficient, or have LESS recoil. All they do is help the action be more quiet, and eliminate the wear that may occur if you constantly shoot hyper velocity shells. If you know about this upgrade then you should know how to install it. No gunsmith is needed. Only very basic knowledge of your gun. I make each of these buffers by hand. They are not mass produced. Each one is cut and then ground to exactly 1.25". This buffer in particular is made from a material called Polysulfone. Don't believe the hype of the "Special" polymers that people sell. Everyone buys their material from some supplier. No one is able to make a super special material that is exclusive to their product, and no one product is better than the other. You may end up with a preference yourself, but not for quality reasons. Some material is softer than others and gives a more dampened effect. Some is harder and has a more solid feel. Both types work fine. Experiment and find out what you like. Don't let someone tell you what you like. These things are cheap (or at least they should be) buy several types and try them.
