This is a great playing 15 year old Taylor 410 which has the older style Pinless Bride. The back, sides and neck of this guitar are made of Mahogany Wood, not ovankol as the 410s are today. I believe it gives a smoother richer sound than the newer guitars. The tuners are Grover, it is equiped with new D-addario strings and has a bone nut and saddle installed that cost 100 dollars. This was bought new by the former owner in 1996 and I am the second owner. It has pick wear and around the bottom of the hole and I have marked that with a marker on the pictures. it does show wear, but it does not stand out in an ugly way from a distance. It simply looks like it has been played alot. To my knowledge there are no serious ding, scratches, etc on the guitar other than EXTENSIVE pick wear. It goes down into the wood, however the wood is not cracked and it does not affect the playing or the sound at all. Don't forget this guitar has a MSRP of 1700. They are definitely no cracks or serious marks other than this pick wear. Do not be terrified that I say it shows extensive wear below the sound hole---some sellers "forget" to mention things like that. It has a Fishman pickup built in. The jack is on the endpin. The fingerboard is ebony and like I said the tuners are grovers. I have marked the picture where the pick wear is, but it is not as big as what is circled. There was no other way to demonstrate to the buyer where the wear is. Also the price of this guitar reflects the description. At the price I am selling it you could put an entire new top on it and still have a nice guitar at a great price. However, it certainly does not need a new top. If you work with guitar repair or has a friend that does you are probably talking 40.00 to make it look new. This is a nice playing guitar and worth more than I am asking for it. Shipping & Handling is 50.00 as this is heavy in the case (which is the original Taylor case, included). I only ship to the 48 states don't even bother to ask otherwise as the answer is no. This guitar is exactly as described. I have pointed out the wear around the bottom of the hole where it has been picked (with some light pick marks) and the slight wear and discoloration in the same place. It is not as bad as I indicated in the picture but I wanted the buyer to be aware of it. With the bone nut and saddle which certainly improves the tone it certainly makes up for any wear on the guitar. Happy bidding and happy playing. You would be wise to purchase this guitar and you will not be disappointed the first time you strum an E chord, Doesn't everyone play an E chord to test the sound. Please don't pay 1200 or 1300 dollars for one that is not any nicer than this one. You would only be wasting money. I will not accept a return on this guitar because it certainly is "as described." Like I said don't be afraid of this guitar. There is no fret wear, nothing wrong with the fingerboard or the amplified sound. If you are a player this guitar is for you. If you want to hang it on the wall and try to convince everyone how great a player you are then this guitar is probably not for you. Buy a new one and pay twice as much.
On Jul-29-10 at 20:28:40 PDT, seller added the following information: I would say that this guitar is worth at least 900 dollars in its present condition. I'm sorry I am not home or I would take more photos, but if someone gets this for 7 or 8 hundred dollars it will be among the best buys on a guitar ever on ebay. Remember this is a 410 not a 310. Look up the price of a new one here online. You'll be back. |
