Shakyamuni Buddha is fourth Buddha of the fortune Aeon.He is fully awakened one.He was born in Lumbini in Nepal.He performed Buddha activities for 45 years in India.he taught teaching mostly of sutra and tantrasto various degrees of intelligence of his disciples.Acording to swayambhu purana,Shakyamuni Buddha visited Swayambhu stupa and delivered teachings on origin of Swayambhu.Images of shakyamuni Buddha are profusely found in Nepal.He is shown in bhumi sparsh mudra i.e.,touching the ground pose.Sometimes,he is shown with arms bowl or panda patra in lap.Sometimes he is depicted in vitaraka mudra (a gesture of debate).

This particular Old Shakyamuni Buddha Antique Statue is of very high quality!!! item made by Newar (Shakya) Artist in Patan, Nepal. The statue is acquired from old artist and collector Mr. Chara Raj Shakya in Patan, Nepal. This is a Museum Piece as it is the only one remaining of its kind. It is believed to be manufactured in the late 19th century.
