Quantity 6 x 3 fletch, hand tied "Medieval model" arrows with self nocks. I have had alot of requests for self nocked arrows, these are what I have come up with after researching them, they are all shaped by hand and are not a mere notch cut in the end of the wood, I have hand shaped these to a lovely tapered shape and am very pleased with the results. This batch has hand tied fletches and standard 125 grain target points, the classic competition bodkin or German brass points are available at an additional cost of 12 dollars for the bodkins per set of six and 6 dollars for brass points per set of six. Truly, these are the most historically accurate looking arrow I can make for shooting in competitions. You will get much attention with these arrows. If you like my arrows please check my store for more, I have also have some hand tied crossbow bolts on occasion. Up for auction is a set of six arrows hand made by me. I have been a competitive Traditional English Longbow archer with a Medieval reinactment group for about 7 years. I have been making my own arrows for about 6 years. I make my arrows to shoot at competition and to look great as a costume piece. I hand straighten all of my arrows and they are not only beautiful but perform well too. I have shot these arrows once to test them and am very happy with the results. I have made arrows for friends and sold them to people who I have met at local Renaissance faires. These are about 32 inches overall from tip to nock, and are 11/32 inch shafts. They are 3 fletched with four inch long feathers, two grey feathers with a traditional barred index feather. They have right wing helical twist feathers so they spin as soon as they come off the bow, this causes them to stabilize quickly. The shafts are port orford cedar, and are two tone green and red mahogany. I shoot these type of arrows off a 45 pound English Longbow. The fletchings were attached with glue on a Bitzenberger fletching rig then hand tied with 15 pound natural artifical sinew. These have my new self nocks and 125 grain standard style field points attached. I will gladly switch points to the German Brass or traditional bodkin point for an additional fee. I treated the shafts with a thin layer of bees wax after the staining and inspect the shafts for straightness. Most of my shafting does not require straightening but occasionally an arrow will need a slight correction. Whether you are shooting for fun, competition or just need some authentic looking arrows for your Renaissance faire costume these will work great. The hand tied ends really get alot of attention, people really do notice! I do not make arrows very quickly because I only have one jig and tying is time consuming. So if you see a set you like please take advantage of it because my arrow auctions are kind of sporadic. If you are interested in having me make you a special commission batch of arrows, I will consider your requests. I have only 11/32 shafting, Standard 125 grain field points, German 125 grain brass points and 125 grain semi medieval looking bodkin points. I have full length black, white, grey and white with brown barring feathers that I hand cut on a feather burner for the fletchings. I can make fletchings that are about 5 inches long max. I also have some white 5 inch shield cut feathers. I can make arrows with 3, 4 or 6 fletches. I also have several different sinew colors for tying the feathers, Black, red, yellow, and blue. I do not do cresting. I make them one at a time on a Bitzenberger jig, I guarantee my workmanship you will be pleased. I also plastic nocks if you prefer them. Please ask any questions prior to bidding on my all sales final auction. |
