This is a One Pound “F Class” Stainless Steel test weight, sold by Toledo Scale Co (now Mettler Toledo).

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture, Division of Weights and Measures last certified this weight, in May of 2008.

The “F Class” weight is the standard class of weight that is used to check most commercial scales, such as grocery store scales and standard industrial scales.  The F Class tolerance on this weight is 70 mg, or .000154 lb.

This is a used weight that has normal marks from normal use, but it is good condition and could be re-certified or just used as a great paperweight.

Every weight has the “1 lb” markings in the top, plus it will have a letter or two stamped into the top to identify the weight within the set of 30 lbs that the weight came from.  See the picture for detail.  The picture is a stock picture; your weight may not have an “E” but will have a letter designation.  The weights can be used individually, or they stack very nicely to be moved in a group.
