Powell, Anthony. INFANTS OF THE SPRING. New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, 1977. Hardcover First US Edition First Printing Volume I of the author's memoirs, "To Keep the Ball Rolling." Anthony Powell, who died at the age of 94 in March of 2000, outlived all of his contemporaries, most of whom are discussed politely and guardedly in his memoirs, is considered one of the finest British novelists of the 20th Century. His 12-volume "Dance to the Music of Time" series of novels is a landmark. This first volume of the memoirs takes Powell to the age of 20, but his commentary covers other periods from time to time. Bump lower front board edge. Dust jacket price-clipped with three closed tears front panel. The book is in Near Fine condition. Very Good dust jacket. Book number 14316. ![]()
