A marvelous collection of reproductions of more than 100 engraved plates of antique Roman vases, candelabra, and tripods. The first 60 images are the early 19th century work of antiquarian Henry Moses, and the remainder are from an 1840 Italian book, work of an unknown engraver. A great pictorial resource. Hardcover. 6”x8”, 2 pages of text plus 60 black & white plates, most reproducing 2 images. Ex-library, with spine number, bookplate, perforation of the title page and stamp on the text page. Endpaper partially removed [see below, right]. Moderate wear, some soil, hinges shaken. -
