ORIENTAL MOTIFS 3-Machine Embroidery Designs

This is Oriental Motifs 3, with some characters and objects in the Oriental tradition, for those of you who have asked me for more Oriental designs. There is an applique fish for those who love that application or if you want to try it (I use trim in place)-It will come with instructions and even if this is a new technique for you, with a little practice you can master the technique of machine applique embroidery.  There are 2 other fish (koi); one utilizes color blending so you can vary the colors as you wish, and the other one has a lace overlay to emulate scales. It is striking to do the lace overlay with metallic thread.  There are 2 designs of the phoenix-one with a lace flower, and one with a flower which has the center puffed and 3 dimensional. I have included a picture below of that one after the threads are cut and brought to the front-it has a cute and puffy flower center.  There are several designs with color blending on some elements, which allow you to take your creativity to the max. Different color combinations bring a very different effect to the finished result. Notably, the parasol lady is the most difficult design I have ever digitized. I did her clothing with orchid and turquoise, and it really looks like woven fabric. Have fun with these.

• Vest or jacket

• Embellishment for guest towels or bath towel sets (be sure to use water soluble stabilizer)

• Embellishment for a favorite t-shirt. I stitch the design on weaver's cloth, tack it to the shirt leaving a small margin loose, which will fray for a nice edge. Another variation is to tack it down using a blanket stitch.
