Rare 1994 lunar year of dog, 1 oz, 10 Yuan, piedfort, proof coin/COA. This is a second series lunar coin with a very low planned mintage, 8,000.

There are many series of lunar year silver coin issued by China Mint. The key series are the first three series, because of their low mintages. First series (1981-1992) weighs 15 gm with a planned mintage ranged from 10,000 to 15,000. Second series (1988-1999) is 1 oz piedfort coin with a planned mintages ranged from 6,000 to 20,000. Third series (1993-2004) is in plum-bloosom shape, weighs 2/3 oz, with a planned mintage of 6,800. The actual mintages of those coins are believed to be lower than the planned mintages.
