Hope Blanket Cedar Chest Kit Do-It-Yourself Woodworking

     For sale is a new, complete cedar chest in a do-it-yourself kit. The kits are made in an Amish woodworking shop in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. The entire chest is made of solid, 3/4-inch thick cedar wood.  Each kit comes unassembled and unfinished, the pieces have been cut to size and planed. Basic woodworking skills are needed to assemble a kit. Ends need to be sanded flush and some panel sizing may be necessary. Trim needs to be mitered and cut to length. The tools required to finish a kit are: hammer or nailer, nail countersink punch, glue and nails, wood putty, miter saw, belt or orbital sander, table saw (if panel sizing is necessary), and bar clamps. Instructions are included with each kit (placed inside the shipping pouch), the recommended finish is a clear lacquer. Each kit comes with a lock.

     We have kits for many sizes of cedar chests, and accessories can be added. Shown are a waterfall front and flattop finished cedar chest. These come in small size - 36L x 17W x 18H, medium size - 42L x 19W x 19H, standard size - 46L x 21W x 21H, and jumbo size - 46L x 25W x 26H. You may deduct $40 from the final price if you want a small chest, $20 for a medium, or add $50 for a jumbo. Accessories include a routered heart design on the front ($15 extra), slide tray ($40), seat rails ($35), dovetail joints ($75), caster kit ($20), and cushion ($35).  This auction is for one standard size cedar chest in either flattop or waterfall, with a plain front, without any of the above-mentioned accessories. Let me know which type of top you prefer, as well as any upgrades, before paying and I will send an invoice. A new option is the deep-carved grape design with "Bless Our Home" on the front as seen in the flattop chest, this costs an additional $75.
