This print measures 29 5/8" height by 21 5/8" width. It was published in 1999. Before the New York Yankees© and the Montreal Expos took the field on July 18, 1999, it was already a special day at Yankee Stadium. Yankee immortal Yogi Berra, after a long estrangement, was honored for his contributions to baseball and to the Yankees. Don Larsen was in attendance to support the catcher who caught his 1956 World Series perfect game. It was also Yankee manager Joe Torre's 59th birthday. However, when David Cone toed the rubber and fired to Wilton Guerrero for the game's first pitch, no one imagined the 36-year-old was about to overshadow everything and create history. After nine innings and 88 pitches, Cone had faced 27 batters and retired them all for Major League Baseball's sixteenth perfect game. As third baseman Scott Brosius camped under Orlando Cabrera's pop fly to record the final out, Cone fell to the ground. His tumultuous 14-year career that featured three World Series rings, a Cy Young award, three one-hitters, a 19 strike-out performance, and two major shoulder operations, had come full circle. After the game, Cone was carried off the field by his catcher Joe Girardi and teammates before receiving wondrous praise
