Wood Wooden Polish Doll Little Red Riding Hood Poland

This auction is for a Polish wooden girl doll who represents Little Red Riding Hood.  She wears a red hooded coat with a polkadot dress underneath.  She has just a little blond mohair curl that sticks out from under the hood.  The condition is good.  I am also listing a second storybook type doll on eBay at this time - Pinocchio.  I am showing a picture of these two dolls together as they would make a cute pair, but only Little Red Riding Hood is for sale with this auction.

These dolls were designed to stand on their own.  It sometimes takes a bit of balancing to get them to stand as they are all jointed.  The dolls are all 7" tall, some a little taller.  I have had a few unusual ones that are 8 1/2" or so.  I am presently selling a small collection of these, all singly. as you might want to add just one or two to your collection.  The shipping will be combined for those who want to purchase a few.  Each doll would be $4, but an additional doll or two would only be an extra $1, $5 for 2 or 3.

The Polish wooden dolls are a rather interesting collection.  Dolls were designed to represent different costumes or work clothing.  One doll usually has green shoes, tweed pants and a black apron and has straw like hair.  I think he could represent a cobbler.  Another doll might be a painter and always wears a one piece suit with rolled up sleeves, 2 patch pockets, a belt, a scarf around the neck, a cape with a visor and blond hair.  The suits are all different colors.  There are many other dolls such as Pinocchio, Santa Claus and Santa helpers and some are nurses.  Each one seems to be different from the other even though the doll represents the same thing.  It is fun to collect a variety of these dolls exhibiting them together.
