 A little information about the artist Pipka: 

Pipka was born in Germany and at the age of five, after World War II, she moved with her family to America and settled in North Dakota.  At an early age her artistic talent was inspired by the old world traditions on her annual visits to see family in Germany.

In her early twenties, Pipka explored the Bavarian painting style of Bauermalerei which to us is known as peasant painting.  By then, she had moved to Minneapolis, and she opened her first workshop there teaching Bauermalerei classes and painting furniture.

Pipka moved to Door County, Wisconsin, an artist and musicians community, and she opened her first gallery.  Her gallery has been very successful over the years...many years ago while sitting in her studio, Pipka created an old world Santa as a gift for her mother, and so began her love for old world Father Christmas images.  She has studied and researched the many cultural traditions of how other countries celebrate Christmas and the tradition of Father Christmas. 

Pipka became involved in 1995 with Prizm, Inc., and since the introduction of her designs and limited edition figurines and Santas, collectors throughout the country and the world have enthusiastically embraced her work.  Today Pipka is travelling, designing, researching and painting her wonderful richly detailed Santas for all to enjoy.

I just received Pipka's Christmas letter wherein she states "You, dear collectors, have given us another wonderful year of collecting and supporting our Pipka collectibles.  Our goal was always to be in existence for 100 years, like old European companies who don't build their business on trends but rather on quality, tradition and always, customer service.  I feel so honored and blessed to be doing something I love and meeting the most wonderful people at the same time. Thank you."

This wonderful collection of Pipka Santas continues to grow after their first appearance in 1995.  At that time six highly detailed resin Santas were introduced.  Since then collectors around the world have been enhanced by these Father Christmas images, stories, history and myths created with each design.
