Versatile actress whose career has ranged from thoughtful roles in movies such as Thelma & Louise (1991) and A League of Their Own (1992) to offbeat performances in sendups such as Beetlejuice (1988) and Earth Girls Are Easy (1989), which co-starred her then-husband Jeff Goldblum. Davis won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her part in The Accidental Tourist (1988). She stars in her own television sitcom The Geena Davis Show (2000- ). She was also married to director Renny Harlin.
