Lt Green to Blue Aquamarine Beryl Rough Palermo Mine NH

The Palermo pegamtite mines have been called "the single most important mineral collecting site on the planet", and has been producing for nearly one hundred and fifty years.  Located near the village of North Groton, New Hampshire, it originally was mined for mica, but since 1973 has been mined for mineral specimens only.  Faceted examples of its gemstones are very rare!

Here's a nice piece of Palermo rough with a greenish cast to it, though I suspect the cleaner areas would give you light blue stones, since the greening appears to be a product of the internal fracture zones.  It is fairly thin, but thick enough to use, if that's your game.  It would also make a darned fine thumbnail/toenail specimen, if that's your game!  Do a search for faceted Palermo aquamarine, and see how many you come up with.  There may be a sea of Brazilian aqua available for a song, but if source matters to you, this is a stone to own!  No reserve.

I try to give the best representation of color as possible with artificial light pics.  When it's not as my eyes see it, I do my best to make note of that.  I list the scale weight of my scale, which has been consistently accurate.  Please understand that your mileage may vary slightly.

USPS First Class shipping within the US is $2.95, because charging more than five bucks to ship small stones is just plain "revenue enhancement".  I'm happy to combine purchases for one shipping charge as well, with combining period lasting 7 days from the first auction won.  Non-USA bidders please contact me in advance for a shipping quote, as many foreign countries restrict the importation of precious stones.  I will not falsify international shipping documents, so please don't ask.
